Talk:Documentation

There seems to no documentation as to what wpkgsrv.exe does and how to debug issues.

From what I can tell is that wpkg.js figures out what the client needs to install and places the commands in the wpkg.xml file on the local pc.

Then at some time wpkgsrv reads that file and does the installs etc.. But How do I control wpkgsrv?

See http://wpkg.org/index.php/WPKG_Client and http://wpkg.org/index.php/WPKG_Client_-_GUI_help

I was preparing to update some text and realized I'd be changing a LOT of formatting, so wanted to bring it up for discussion before I did it.

With the goal of updating the section 'Configuration files' I created WPKG files and copied/expanded the section 'Configuration files' into it so that it becomes a list of all files, with descriptions (except for 1-2 that I haven't figured out yet) and then intended to import it with
{{:WPKG files}}
but that put a table of contents in the middle of the article. Fixing this requires converting all the section leads (currently marked as):
'''Foo'''
into Sections (marked as):
== Foo ==
but that involves changing the formatting of the entire document. Is it better to keep WPKG files or should we just update the document in-place?

I see no reason to not change the bold section leads into real headings.
Real headings are used on any other page, so it should be the same on this one too.

In my opinion I agree it'd be better after conversion, but I'm also a site 'noob' and wanted to tread lightly while I learn the preferred methods here. (I also wasn't sure if there'd be objection to the document becoming significantly `de-synched' from the Spanish version; I don't speak Spanish but I can at least adjust the formatting in both versions, but like I said: I wanted to ask before I charged in and making `big' changes.)

We can always revert your changes or correct things, thats the advantage of a wiki.
It is always the case that translated pages will get updated after the English pages, so don't worry about the Spanish page, time will come to adjust the rest.
