→About dependencies

:: What I was thinking would be worth doing is adding a section in the JRE and Flash Player pages to say that you may well want to add a dependency on Firefox in their packages. That way the onus is on adding the dependency in those packages, rather than in Firefox (which, as you say, may not have any relationship to JRE and Flash Player as some people don;t install them, so no need to alter their Firefox for something they may never use). The dependency should IMO be that way around anyway because a) you want Firefox to be installed before JRE and Flash Player; and b) if Firefox is uninstalled you want JRE and Flash Player to be automatically reinstalled so that the relationship between Firefox and those plguins is more likely to be made (I think maybe these days Firefox can find them in the system itself, but this wouldn't be true if they were extensions rather than plug-ins, and it's worth being both consistent and robust)
